Pike Place MarketFront Expansion_The Miller Hull PartnershipFor the first time in 40 years, Pike Place Market is growing with the Pike Place MarketFront. The Market-centric project will convert a .75-acre surface parking lot on Western Avenue into a dynamic public plaza with fantastic views of Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains, table space for farmers, craftspeople and artisan purveyors, commercial space, low-income housing, a neighborhood center, and parking.

Film and Photography Requests

All commercial filming or photography must be authorized by the Pike Place Market Preservation and Development Authority (PDA). To submit a request for commercial filming or photography, please complete our filming application. 

The Pike Place Market is a working market, which means that to the greatest extent possible, filming must not interfere with Market business, pedestrian or vehicle traffic, or the public’s enjoyment of the Market. Filming for anything other than personal use with a handheld camera must be approved and permitted by the Pike Place Market Preservation and Development Authority.  A minimum of 10 business days is required for any applications. To submit a request, please review our guidelines and complete our filming application..

Trademark Rights and Licensing 

The PDA owns trademark rights to the Pike Place Market name (and associated names), the Market’s clock and sign image, and other iconic Market imagery. The PDA is committed to protecting the use of Pike Place Market trademarks. Use of the PDA’s trademark on any products or to promote any products or business are expressly prohibited unless a licensing agreement has been approved by the PDA Council. This includes the use of photos or video taken within the Market or of the Market for commercial use, including images that are sold/considered for commercial use after the fact. All commercial filming or photography taken in the Market requires a filming permit obtained in advance.
